Types of Assessments that your child can have at ESEH

Diagnostic Assessment

Takes place prior to lesson explanation and is meant to determine students’` background information, about the topic of discussion. It also shed light on their skills, interests and potentials. It enables teachers to know their students for better planning and accordingly better program delivery.

Formative Assessment

Formative assessment is known as assessment for learning, it continuously takes place to provide feedback and information about students` understanding and knowledge, this type of assessment takes place during the instructional process, while learning is taking place, despite the fact that formative assessment measures student progress, it is also meant to evaluate teaching that takes place within the learning environment.

Summative Assessment

Summative assessment, known as assessment of learning, takes place after the learning has been delivered and the learning process has been completed. It is basically used for evaluating the overall result, or for placements at schools, and universities. Rubrics should be given prior to summative assessments to make sure students have clear understanding of what the expectations are, as summative assessments are usually graded.
